Money in the Bathroom Walls!!

Right now you are looking at about 400 dollars worth of plumbing parts for the bath and shower. When we are done buying all the plumbing parts we will be about $900.00 invested into valves for our master bath. Which makes these Valves more expensive then our bath tub.
What is really sad...Most of these parts will not be seen outside the bathroom walls. The $900 doesn't include "faucets (trim)" and other bath fixtures. We will have to purchase about $900 in faucets/trim.

New Look Fireplace Mantle

Above the Mantle that I painted black.

Primed the mantle prior to painting it black.

Master Bathroom Demo Underway

The master bath remodel is underway. We are totally gutting the bathroom and starting over. The masterbath was a 3/4 bath. When it is finished we will have a full bath. It will be so nice when our master bed and bath are finished.

Living Room Paint

So this week...while I have been out of preschool. I have done a little bit of painting. Everyone laughs who has been in my house because you can tell where I have started and sometimes almost finished painting. I have ADD.. and well lets say my house has a lot of blue tape of where I have at least begun a painting project. I also have to tell you a small story about choosing paint colors. I was looking at paint colors and I always tend to lean towards the darker colors on the color cards. Well Bruce coached me into going with a lighter color for the walls. So I went to lowes and got a lighter color then I was originally thinking. My gut feeling seems to be one I should stick with. After putting the color on the wall I decided that the color was way too light and it looked like it was just a dirty white paint color. So we had two cans of Behr Gobi Desert in the house.. so I then began to paint the whole room a tan color which is picture above. I think the hardest part of painting in this room..is everything is competing with the REALLY nasty and very UGLY orange carpet. When I took the picture I cut the orange carpet out for a reason, so that the viewer isn't distracted by the ugly orange carpet that will be relocated to the nearest dump in the upcoming future.

Walk In Closets

It's been a long time since we have updated the blog. But we are in the middle of a HUGE master bedroom remodel. The walls went up. Bruce did all the electrical. The past couple days Bruce has been working on hanging drywall. Speaking from experince a 4x10 piece of drywall is REALLY heavy!!
The picture above is the outside of the masterbedroom walk in closet. The inside is 4ft wide x10 ft long. All the dry wall has been hung on the inside of the master closet. We took aprox 12 inches of the master bedroom and one of the two linen closets to make this walk in bedroom possible.

The small bedroom where we bumped out the wall and borrowed about 12 inches of the bedroom. By doing this we were able to give our masterbedroom a large master closet, in addition we gave this smaller bedroom a 4ft x 4ft walk in closet.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Merry Christmas!! It is Bentley's (Our Pug)First Christmas. We are slowly getting some projects down around the house. Jessica is rounding the corner of her Master's classes. So life is a little stressful for her and can't dedicate so much time to the house at the moment. Bruce applied for a job in Salt Lake. We are kind of waiting to hear about the job too. So that could change how we end up finishing... some things. We still want to put in the quality time and effort, but he are hesitating on finishes. We don't want to out do ourselves vs our Comps in the neighborhood either. We will keep you posted on the latest news.

Trees Coming Down... its a big Mess

It's been a very long weekend. Bruce spent ALL day friday in a man lift. Today we went and rented a Chipper. Where it may have costed us thousands of dollars hiring an Arborist. We are probably in this project $750.00. We will post pictures after the mess has been cleaned up.

Progress is has slowed down

For all of you that check the blog to see the progress we are making on our PROJECT house. We have slowed down. Jessica has gone back to teaching preschool and is finishing up masters classes. Bruce has been in and out of town for work and the Military. So keep checking to see the progress, but we have slowed down a bit.

Laundry Room Cabnits

Today we spent some time to put the cabnits in the Laundry room together. We added door pulls and hung the doors. We still have a handful of small projects to finish in the Laundry room.

A WORKING FENCE

Bruce spent saturday afternoon working on the fence. The previous owners had one large fence. It was so big that it wasn't opening effeciently. Bruce took it apart and made it into two smaller gates. Now it works great!

Pink it Goes...

Well Bruce and I painted one of the bedrooms pink. I would have rather had it purple, green, or yellow. The problem was I have a quilt, which I have had for a few years... that I am working off the color scheme. Well the quilt has no purple. Yellow doesn't go well with our Cream color trim. Green... well we already have lots of green in our house. But I feel like I am getting eaten by the pink wall monster... so I need some suggestions. I thought maybe I should put a chair rail around the room... then paint everything under the chair rail green. I am taking suggestions. :) Email me with your suggestions @ jessarcher3@hotmail.com

BENTLEY COAL

He has selected a name. Thanks to all of you who sent us name suggestions. We had so many great suggestions for names it was a hard to choose only one. So we left it to him. We wrote all the names on small pieces of paper and stuck them in a hat. Then we let him stick his head in the hat to pick out a name. He did.... and the paper he selected said Bentley. Jessica decided his middle name would be Coal.
